Padel is quickly gaining momentum around the world. That rising padel popularity reinforces something we believe strongly at Panther Athletica: racquet sports can bring people together in new and exciting ways.
When plans for Panther Athletica were taking shape, professional tennis player Rajeev Ram encouraged us to consider adding padel to the facility. He recognized it as an emerging sport that is social, approachable, and fun for a wide range of players. That early recommendation helped shape our plans to include four dedicated padel courts alongside our ten indoor tennis courts.
Padel Popularity Meets Panther Athletica’s Plans
As a recent article from The Hollywood Reporter highlights, padel’s reach continues to grow, and we’re excited to bring that energy to Indianapolis. Panther Athletica is being built as more than a place to play. Our goal is to create a community destination where people of different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels can discover racquet sports, connect with one another, and enjoy being active.
With the support of nonprofit partners including the Rajeev Ram Foundation, we also hope to expand access and create opportunities for young people throughout our community.
